    Digicel Group Increases First Half Profit by 10%


    Kingston, Jamaica - Nov. 17 2009: Digicel, the largest mobile operator in the Caribbean and fastest growing operator in Central American, reported a 10% increase in its half year profit (EBITDA) to US$364 million on revenues of US$857 million.

    Digicel Introduces Voluntary Separation Programme

    Kingston -- Jan. 20, 2009 --  Digicel Group, the largest mobile operator in the Caribbean and new entrant to the Central American market, today introduced a Voluntary Separation Programme (VSP) for staff across 23 markets, designed to better align the organisation and overall cost structure with evolving economic conditions.

    Digicel 4G Broadband Launches Across Jamaica

    Kingston, Jamaica-- August 24, 2010-- Under the banner, "Plug, Pay and Go," the weekend saw the official launch of Digicel 4G Broadband, Jamaica's fastest wireless broadband service.

    Kingston -- Aug. 13, 2010 -- Mobile telephone service provider Digicel is about to unveil its 4G Broadband offering in Jamaica. It already offers a GSM service in 32 markets across the Caribbean, Central America and the South Pacific.

    British Court Orders Digicel to Pay $80m to TSTT

    Port-of-Spain -- April 25, 2010 -- A London court has ordered mobile services provider Digicel to pay telecoms company TSTT and its shareholder, Cable and Wireless, close to $80 million, TSTT said yesterday. See Court Order here.


    Kingston -- April 16, 2010 -- We are extremely disappointed with the decision of the High Court in London with regard to Digicel's court action against Cable & Wireless Communications plc and related entities with respect to their alleged engagement in illegal behaviour designed to frustrate and delay Digicel's entry into various markets in the Caribbean. Following this decision, Digicel is currently considering its legal options.



    Port-of-Spain -- April 15, 2010 -- After a 77-day trial, Justice Morgan, a Chancery Court judge in England, today delivered a landmark decision dismissing all claims brought by Digicel against Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (TSTT).


    Kingston, Jamaica: Feb. 19, 2010 -- Digicel owner and Chairman, Denis O’Brien, has been named as a goodwill ambassador for the city of Port-au-Prince in Haiti, it was announced today.

    Feb. 13, 2010 -- On Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled in LIME's favour regarding an ongoing dispute with Digicel which had blocked its international call circuits resulting in LIME losing revenue.

    Kingston -- Jan. 22, 2010 -- Digicel Jamaica has lost a legal battle in its long-standing resistance to the regulatory control of the Office of Utilities regulation (OUR), in respect of pricing for interconnection.
