Dec. 15, 2009 -- The European Commission approved the first financing decisions in favour of eleven African and two Caribbean countries for a total of € 230 million, including € 215 million under the so-called Vulnerability FLEX mechanism (V-FLEX).

Dec. 8, 2009 -- Projects of common interest are projects that contribute to the economic and social development of Latin America and the Caribbean and also meet other European Union objectives, namely to support EU presence through transfer of technology and know-how in Latin America and to contribute to environmental sustainability in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Feb. 5, 2010 -- At the recent Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) held from 27 to 29 November, 2009 in Trinidad and Tobago, member states agreed on a new system for financing the Commonwealth Secretariat.
