Washington -- July 30, 2009 - The World Bank Country Director for the Caribbean and the Haitian Ambassador to the United States have signed a US$5 million grant to strengthen Haiti’s agriculture management and support its sustainable development.

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 18, 2009 -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez announced on Thursday that Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has been accepted as the seventh country to join the Bolivarian Alternative for The Americas (ALBA).

New Kingston -- April 3, 2009 -- The two-day International Labour Organisation's (ILO) Tripartite Caribbean Conference officially ended Thursday (April 2) at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, in New Kingston. At the closing ceremony, a document outlining nine principles and actions deemed desirable, as the way forward in response to the current global financial crisis, was presented.


GENEVA, Switzerland, April 3, 2009- The acceleration of trade integration in the Caribbean is essential to boost the region’s growth, create jobs, and reduce poverty, says a new World Bank study.
