    OECS Secretariat, Castries, St. Lucia, July 6 2011. The OECS Secretariat and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support ongoing and planned collaboration between the two organisations on population related issues.

    July 4, 2011 - Antigua and Barbuda has called for affirmative action to allow more students from CARICOM’s non-campus territories to access tertiary level education at the University of the West Indies (UWI).



    June 28, 2011 - The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) says all restrictions on the free movement of nationals within the sub-region will be removed by August.


    June 25, 2011 - At the recently concluded 53rd Meeting of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Authority, held in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Heads of Government agreed to the closure of the OECS High Commission in Ottawa, Canada by December 2011. 


    June 6, 2011 - The Fifty-third Meeting of the OECS Authority was convened in Kingstown, St Vincent and the Grenadines over the period May 19-20, 2011 under the Chairmanship of the Hon. Stephenson King, Prime Minister of St Lucia. 

    OECS Secretariat, Castries, St. Lucia -- May 20, 2011 -- Chairman of the Council of OECS Ministers for Tourism Honourable Richard Ricky Skerritt says the OECS is considering strategic mechanisms to stimulate intra-regional travel, so as to facilitate easier movement of persons across the region.

    Haiti - April 1, 2011 -  The Joint - CARICOM Electoral Observation Mission (JEOM) in Haiti has taken note of the postponement of the publication of the preliminary results to 4 April 2011 which was announced by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) in its Press Release #91 of 29 March 2011.

    OECS, Castries, St. Lucia -- March 18, 2011--Senior Tourism Officials from across the OECS will meet in St. Lucia from March 23 & 24,  2011, at a workshop designed to develop the first Common Tourism Policy for the OECS region.


    March 18, 2011 -Today Friday 18th March, 2011 Heads of Government of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States will converge in Antigua and Barbuda at the Office of the Prime Minister for a Special Meeting of the OECS Authority.

    Jan. 30, 2011 -- At the Fifty-Second Meeting of the OECS Authority convened on January 24th 2011 on the Calvigny Island, St. George's, OECS leaders focused on a new agenda and a new beginning for the OECS region.

    Castries -- Jan. 11, 2011 -- The OECS Secretariat will host a series of seminars on the role of protected areas in biodiversity conservation for the media in January and February 2011 across all independent States of the OECS.


    OECS Secretariat, Castries, St. Lucia, Monday December 22, 2010 -- On June 18, 2010, the OECS Member States of Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines signed the Revised Treaty of Basseterre Establishing the OECS Economic Union, in order to pave the way for the deepening of OECS integration.


    Castries  -- Nov. 28, 2010---Issues and recommendations from national consultations in OECS Member States formed the main part of Wednesday’s talks on the importance of trade facilitation in improving the region’s competitiveness and sustaining an OECS Economic Union.

    OECS Secretariat, Castries, St. Lucia, Tuesday November 9, 2010. The Castries based OECS Secretariat is collaborating with the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO), to help reduce the strain on the region’s health sector caused by the deadly impact of Hurricane Tomas.


    Castries -- Oct. 28, 2010 -- Trade experts in the OECS are upbeat about efforts towards a common Offer of Services as part of ongoing Caricom-Canada negotiations.
