    OECS Secretariat - July 26th 2012 - An ongoing seminar in Saint Lucia for OECS Statisticians on Poverty and Inequality Measurements has been welcomed as timely as OECS Member States work towards enhancing key economy driving sectors such as Agriculture and Tourism.


    June 20, 2012 - Heads of Government considered matters relating to the operation of the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority and appointed a Director General of the Authority.

    St. John's - March 29, 2012 - Plans are being elaborated for the inaugural session of the OECS Regional Assembly, which is due to be held in Antigua on 15th June. OECS Heads of Government took the decision at the 54th Meeting of the OECS Authority to convene the inaugural session of the OECS Assembly on a date close to the anniversary of the signing of the Revised Treaty of Basseterre which established the OECS Economic Union.


    A three day consultation is currently being held in Saint Lucia on the development of a new OECS Education Strategy. Education officials from the sub - region say the new policy will chart the way for the countries of the OECS in the area of Education - for the next ten years.


    OECS Secretariat, Castries -- Feb.6, 2012-  The year 2012 will be another busy year for the Trade Policy Unit. 


    St. John’s, Antigua- Feb. 3, 2012 - Ministers for tourism and Civil Aviation from across the OECS member states will meet in St Vincent next week to discuss and devise strategic solutions to tourism and aviation issues currently confronting the eastern Caribbean.

    Jan. 24, 2012 - The opening ceremony of the 54th meeting of the OECS authority began on Monday 23rd January 2012 at the Bay Gardens Hotel in Rodney Bay Saint Lucia.

    Roseau - Dec. 15, 2011 - Dominica is to support an application by Martinique and Guadeloupe to become an associate member of the Organization of the Eastern Caribbean (OECS).


    Oct. 6, 2011 - Representatives of the Inter American Development Bank (IDB) informed trade officials of the plan to complete an Aid For Trade Strategy for CARICOM Member States by March 2012 with funding from the IDB. 


    Oct. 3, 2011 - The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Secretariat will from 4th - 6th October 2011 convene a meeting of OECS Directors of Statistics in St. Lucia to discuss OECS Statistical Developments in the context of the OECS Economic Union.


    Oct. 3, 2011 - Guided by the mandates given by the OECS Council of Tourism Ministers at their last meeting held in April 2011 in St. Kitts, the OECS Secretariat recently re-constituted the OECS Yachting Committee, which was previously dubbed the OECS Yachting Safety and Security Working Group. The inaugural meeting of the OECS Yachting Committee was convened on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. by videoconference.


    Castries - Sept. 22, 2011 - The OECS Trade Policy Unit (OTPU) says a recent Technical Study reveals that except in the case of ICT, OECS Member States need to do more to ensure that they can sufficiently export services to Canada and the United States in identified areas.


    Castries - Sept. 18, 2011 - The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Secretariat, in collaboration with the Sub-regional Office for the Caribbean of the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), will from 19th - 23rd September, 2011 convene a training exercise in Computer Editing of Population and Housing Census Data in Antigua and Barbuda.


    OECS Secretariat, St. Lucia -- Sept. 1, 2011 - October first 2011 has been identified as the date for establishing a Common Tourism Policy for OECS Member States.

    Monday August 1, 2011 heralded the commencement of full free movement of OECS citizens throughout the six independent countries of the Organisation.   Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines agreed that, from that date, they would permit OECS citizens to enter their territories and remain for an indefinite period in order to work, establish businesses, provide services or reside.
