Add Releases

HOW TO ADD RELEASES

1. If you are a NEW member, please email the FIRST release to me for review.

Once it meets the site's criteria, I'll email you with a log in and password and you can then add it to the site.

2. If you are already an Editor, you already have a log in and you can add releases. Log in using this URL: www.caribbeanpressreleases.com/admin and add the release. When it's approved (usually within one day), it'll show up on the site.

3. " Featured" Articles are approved only by Admin.

4. Articles that look and read like commercials or blog entries will be automatically DELETED.

Authors who register and do not post releases within one week will be removed from the site.

5. ONLY Caribbean based releases or releases about Caribbean issues, people, businesses, etc. are accepted. Non Caribbean releases will not be approved and added to the site.

6. Text releases may have hyperlinks for sites and email addresses. They will be posted as submitted. No changes will be made to spelling or grammer errors. CaribbeanPressReleases.com reserves the right to edit releases and omit overbearing promotional material from same.

Some previous registrants have added ads and links to their sites when they register. They have been removed from the site. You are permitted a brief description of yourself and/or company, exclusive of links.

CaribbeanPressReleases.com reserves the right to refuse to add any release posted by contributors to the site, if they fail to meet the guidelines or for any other reason the owner of this site deems fit. Please see the Legal page for more clarification.

Guidelines for Releases

The following guidelines apply to all content submitted through this site:

  1. The idea behind a press release is to inform the media and the world of a newsworthy item. Be it a product, an organization, service or event, your press release must answer ALL the "W" questions such as why, who, where, when what, and not how much, so that your press release is information and not an advertisement
  2. Multiple identical press releases will be rejected.
  3. Do not include HTML tags or any other types of tags in the press release. All press releases are to be written in PLAIN text.
  4. Do not write in FIRST person, even in a company description. Submissions containing, but not limited to, content with phrases like "We/I believe" or "It's My/Our Opinion" or words such as I, We, Us or Our, not used in quotations, is an article or an opinion editorial, not a press release.
  5. Advertisements will be rejected. Press releases must have substance and must represent real information that informs the readers, not sell to them.
  6. Do not headline or submit a press release in upper case.  Here is an example of a proper headline format: "John Doe Card Services Announces New Distributor with 5,000 Retail Customers" without the quotes.
  7. A calendar of events is not a press release.
  8. Compose your press release in a word processor ahead of time.
  9. If your submission is a "how to" or giving advice or tips, it is not a press release.
  10. If your press release contains any adult (18 or over) or pornographic material, or promotes any website with the aforementioned content, it will be rejected.
  11. A list of items is not a press release. For example, if you are selling a 10 step program and list all 10 steps and submit it as a press release, it will be rejected.
  12. No exclamation points in releases. Exclamation points are used mostly for hype and have no place in a press release.
  13. Do not use Internet jargon or shorthand in your press release such as "IMHO" etc. If you do your press release will be rejected.
  14. When quoting someone or writing about other companies and products, make sure you obtain permission from the persons or companies you are referencing.
  15. Where we deem necessary, CaribbeanPressReleases will seek to verify any and all information contained in any press release before publication.
  16. Persons who register and do not add media releases to the site shall be deemed to be using the site for advertising purposes only and will be removed as contributors.
