    Sept. 15, 2009 -- Hilaire replaces Donald Peters, who departed the post in July, and he will immediately confront the contractual crisis between the WICB and the players' union that has crippled West Indies cricket.

    st. John's, Antigua -- Mar. 3, 2008 --The audited report of the ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 Inc. (CWC 2007) shows that the tournament had an overall surplus of US$53.9 million, believed to be the highest event surplus in the history of the Cricket World Cup. Of this amount, US$29.3 million was paid out to the Local Organizing Committees on behalf of the Governments of the Caribbean as of December 2006. The WICB will also be further sharing 25% of its portion (US24.6 million) of the profits with the territorial cricket boards.

    Feb. 28, 2008 -- (CMC) - The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has made a profit of US$63 million from the 2007 International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup (CWC) in the Caribbean. This was revealed in the financial report from the tournament, compiled by Chris Dehring, the CEO of World Cup 2007 Inc.


    Georgetown, Guyana -- Jan. 16, 2008 -- The President was speaking at a Press Conference he hosted at the Office of the President and responding to a question as to whether Guyana regrets the large investment made with regard to hosting the event when the country has not even received its finances as it relates to tickets purchased from the West Indies Cricket Board.

    Dec. 22, 2007-- ICC Cricket World Cup WI 2007 (CWC2007), the WICB subsidiary responsible for the successful organization of this year's Cricket World Cup, is no longer in operation.  CWC2007 ceased functioning as of Friday December 21, 2007, having wrapped up its wide ranging operations across the Caribbean and worldwide.


    St. John's, Antigua -- July 20, 2007 - The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) will be making an interim payout of US$12 million to the Local Organizing Committees out of the net proceeds from the ticket sales from the Cricket World Cup.

    Kingston, Jamaica - July 10, 2007 -- The West Indies Cricket Board is expected to shed its huge debt burden shortly, thanks to the profits earned from the recently hosted Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean.

    St. George’s, Grenada -- July 5, 2007 -- The Government of Grenada is expected to collect close to eight million dollars in ticket revenue from the 2007 Cricket World Cup.

    Bassettere, St. Kitts -- June 8, 2007 -- The St. Kitts Tourism Authority has attributed an 11 per cent increase in tourist stay over arrival figures for March 2007 to the hosting of Cricket World Cup.

    Georgetown, Guyana -- June 8, 2007 -- Government has recovered $207,235,750 of an overall $976,209,120 which it hopes to recoup from hosting Cricket World Cup (CWC) 2007.

    Port-of-Spain, Trinidad -- May 16, 2007 -- The Government of Trinidad and Tobago had invested $15 million but will get only $1.5 million in return from the revenue collected during the cricket World Cup in the Caribbean.

    May 6, 2007 -- The closing ceremony of the World Cup cost taxpayers in Barbados more than US$750,000. Investigations by the Midweek Nation have revealed that the fee charged by artistic director Peter Minshall of Trinidad and Tobago was US$500,000, covering pan players, carnival puppets, Moko jumbies, Bele dancers and field performers. The cultural presentation, which lasted about 45 minutes, was seen by television audiences for fewer than 15 minutes. Additionally, because of the late start, the extravaganza was viewed by fans at Kensington Oval in relative darkness.

    St. George's, Grenada -- April 24, 2007 -- Grenadian Prime Minister and Chairman of the Caricom Sub Committee on Cricket Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell has heralded former West Indies Captain Brian Lara as a true Champion of the game.
