June 5, 2009 -- Historic November summit will bring together fishers from throughout the English, Spanish and French-speaking Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico with scientists and researchers to find common solutions for some of the most vexing issues facing the fisheries of the Wider Caribbean.

Bridgetown, Barbados, Mar 4, 2009 -- The "Report of the Fishers Forum on 'Climate change and small-scale fisheries in the Caribbean at the 61st Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute (GCFI) Gosier, Guadeloupe, 10-14 November, 2008" points to a need to place on the regional climate change agenda more demand-driven research regarding the phenomenon’s effects on small-scale fisheries, especially given the uncertainty about the impacts on their livelihood from climate change and the possible responses fishers could take to mitigate its negative effects.
