Dec. 1, 2011 - At their monthly meeting here on Wednesday, the 33 UN member States of
the Latin American and Caribbean Group (GRULAC) unanimously endorsed
Antigua and Barbuda’s Ambassador to the United Nations H.E. Dr. John W.
Ashe, to become the President of the Sixty-eight Session of United
Nations General Assembly (UNGA 68), when that position rotates to the
region in September 2013.

October 2011, under the theme ‘Building National Resilience, Building
Global Resilience’. Reflecting on the unique nature of the Commonwealth,

developing and developed nations from six continents, Heads reaffirmed
their commitment to the values and principles of the Commonwealth and
agreed to a series of actions to maintain the Commonwealth’s relevance,
to ensure its effectiveness in responding to contemporary global
challenges and to build resilient societies and economies

at the Hilton Barbados. The CSA is the voice of the region's shipping
