    Kingston -- March 7, 2010 -- This report is the Government of Jamaica's response to the findings of the United States Department of State, 2010 International Narcotics Control Strategy Report on Drug and Chemical Control, INCSR. The statements in that report do not accurately represent the efforts being made by the security forces and the Jamaican authorities in the fight against international drug trafficking and organized crime.


    Feb. 23, 2010 -- Dutch suspect Joran van der Sloot has confessed to disposing the body of missing American student Natalee Holloway while on the Caribbean island of Aruba, a Dutch newspaper reported on Tuesday. He made the statements in front of an RTL television camera.


    Nassau -- Jan. 6, 2010 -- Newly appointed Commissioner of Police Ellison Greenslade announced that strategic priorities will form the plans and actions of the Royal Bahamas Police Force for the year 2010, as an intervention to serious crimes in The Bahamas.


    Antigua: Sexual Offences Up 127% for 2009

    St. John's -- Jan. 1, 2010 -- Sexual offences and murders have, for yet another year, emerged as major problems for the Royal Police Force of Antigua & Barbuda, according to crime statistics released yesterday.


    Bridgetown -- Nov. 27, 2009 --  A comprehensive study on child sexual abuse in the Eastern Caribbean has concluded that the practice is a serious and extensive problem for societies in the sub region.

    Jamaica: Police Chief Resigns

    Kingston -- Nov. 2, 2009 -- Jamaica's Police Chief, Rear Admiral Hardley Lewin, has tendered his resignation to the Police Service Commission, ending weeks of speculation that a show-down with the Government was imminent, The Gleaner has learnt. See also: Jamaica Observer story.

    Jamaica PM Orders Hijacking Probe

    April 21, 2009 - (jamaica-gleaner.com): Prime Minister Bruce Golding says a repeat of Sunday night's hijacking of a Canadian charter flight at the Sangster International Airport is not likely as the Government takes on a more integral role in airport security.
