St.John's - Dec. 8, 2011 - The ongoing industrial action by LIATs pilots, through its trade union body the Leeward Island Airline Pilots Association (LIALPA) is an unfortunate and untimely action which can only serve to damage the financial prospects for LIAT and severely affect members of the traveling public.
St. John's, Antigua, December 07, 2011 – On Tuesday 6th December and Wednesday 7th December, members of the Leeward Islands Airline Pilots Association (LIALPA) called in sick throughout the LIAT network, effectively shutting down the company’s flight operations and stranding thousands of passengers throughout the region. On both days only one flight was able to operate moving from Antigua and Trinidad respectively.

August 5, 2011 - Employees of the regional airline, LIAT, Thursday voted to end a crippling 11 day strike even as their bargaining agent, the Technical Allied Workers Union (TAWU), warned that the “war is not over” with the Antigua-based airline. The workers, who were owed six million EC dollars in outstanding arrears dating back to 1983, have agreed to accept EC$500,000 (US$185,180) with the outstanding matters to be dealt with during arbitration.
St John's, Antigua, CMC - July 13, 2011 - The regional airline, LIAT, and several Caribbean trade unions have reached an agreement regarding the closure of the airline's ticketing offices.
St. John's - June 6, 2011 -- Prime Minister Dr the Honourable Baldwin Spencer said a new air transport agreement between Antigua and Cuba could prove beneficial to regional airline, LIAT. Prime Minister Spencer said the new agreement could be in place within six months.

JOHN’S, Antigua, April 01, 2011 – Regional airline LIAT said Friday that the decision to close its City Ticketing Offices (CTOs) was taken against a background of the need both to cut costs and to adapt the Company’s business model to a changing economic and technological environment and, in particular, to promote the use of web-based and telephone bookings.
March 31, 2011 - President of the Caribbean Congress of Labour (CCL), Chester Humphrey, who is also head of the Council of LIAT Trade Unions, told the Caribbean Media Corporation that the matter had been discussed at a meeting here on Tuesday involving the airline's board of directors and unions representing the regional workers.
St. John's - Feb. 15, 2011 --(antiguaobserver.com): Antigua and Barbuda’s Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, John Maginley, has responded to recent comments by his St Lucian counterpart, Allen Chastanet, about the regional airline LIAT: “I find it surprising that he would venture into telling the shareholders of a private company how they should conduct their business. We don’t come to St Lucia and do that. If we need his advice we’ll ask, and if Minister Chastanet wants to have a say, put money up like the rest of us and come on board."
