    Aug. 8, 2011 - Preliminary findings by investigators, according to industry and government officials, point to pilot error rather than mechanical or other system malfunctions, the WSJ report said. A source close to the investigations had also told Stabroek News last week that preliminary investigations point to pilot error as the main contributing factor to Caribbean Airlines Flight 523 overshooting the runway at the CJIA.

    August 2, 2011 - The flight crew of the ill-fated Caribbean Airlines aircraft that crash-landed after overshooting the runway at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Guyana on Saturday was yesterday interviewed by the investigating team.

    27 May 2011, Piarco, Trinidad and Tobago W.I.- Days before the deadline for a notice of closure of the largest aviation merger in the Caribbean, Caribbean Airlines has finalised its acquisition of Air Jamaica.

    Feb. 14, 2012 - Castries, St Lucia, CMC (cananews.net) – The Trinidad-based airline, Caribbean Airlines, has begun a non-stop daily service to St Lucia with daily flights from Port of Spain to the George FL Charles Airport here.

    Trinidad: Brunton fired as CAL boss

    Port-of-Spain -- Nov. 27, 2010 -- (trinidadguardian.co.tt): Chief executive officer (CEO) of Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL) Captain Ian Brunton has been fired. CAL’s board of directors, chaired by Nicholas Issa III, has appointed vice-president, commercial and customer experience, Robert Corbie, as interim CEO.
