Port -of-Spain --- 1 Dec. 2006 --- The Caribbean Airlines’ newly branded Boeing 737 has arrived in the region, “marking the start of an exciting era in the regional aviation industry,” a press release stated yesterday.
“A brand new airline, with a global reach and global standards, is about to take to the skies,” the release declared.
“This aircraft is the first in the Caribbean Airlines fleet to be
painted and outfitted in the new livery, complete with the magnificent
hummingbird logo on the tail. The tag line “the warmth of the islands”
indicates the mood and the atmosphere Caribbean Airlines seeks to
generate.
"It conjures up the diversity of the region, its food, music, décor, language and personality.
“Caribbean Airlines is rooted in Trinidad & Tobago and the Caribbean,” the release continued, “but its outlook is international: a Caribbean carrier with an international perspective.”
“It is a pan-Caribbean airline serving the world,” Peter Davies, chief executive officer stated.
More than competing for existing traffic in the region, Caribbean Airlines is interested in creating demand.
The release went on to state that a fresh approach to pricing and fare structures will help to achieve its aim to become the number one carrier in the Caribbean.
“Extra flexibility will be important – for instance, flying one way economy class and returning in business class; discounts for senior citizens, children and students are just some examples of how the airline will reflect customer requirements.”
New routes are already under review, together with a more effective intra-Caribbean network linked into worldwide destinations. Other developments are in the pipeline and these will be revealed as Caribbean Airlines moves closer to its launch date on 1 Jan., 2007.
