St. John's - July 22, 2011 - Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture the Honourable John Maginley and The Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) through negotiations with German Airline, Air Berlin announces a code - share agreement between Air Berlin PLC & Co. Luftverkehrs KG with British Airways (operating carrier) as a marketing carrier to Antigua & Barbuda.

Flights are scheduled to begin as early as this summer 2011. The Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) through its offices in England will be working to promote Antigua & Barbuda within the German market.

Minister Maginley stated, “The opportunity for having scheduled flights out of Germany daily within the winter months and six days a week during the summer months, will allow for greater access to the German market rather than just a weekly charter”

The Minister is extremely excited about this new agreement and anticipates that this code-share relationship will be beneficial to the respective countries involved and produce greater opportunities for growth within the tourism sector.
