may 27, 2011 - The Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL) of the
Organization of American States has signed a cooperation agreement with
the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) to provide greater
cooperation, exchange of information, and reciprocal representation
between the two entities, among other things.
The document,

greater potential for improving the telecommunications industry in the
region.
Secretary Baptista, said, "It is an honor to partner
with the regional Telecom agency of the Caribbean, CITEL looks forward
to working together with the CTU on the implementation of the various
initiatives under this Agreement.”

region's economic and social development is the objective of all
elements of its work, whether it is coordinating the rules needed to
facilitate infrastructure deployment and telecommunication service

development strategies.
