LIAT services to/from Grenada continue despite industrial action
ST.
JOHN’S, Antigua, August 05, 2010 – LIAT wishes to advise that
its employees at the Maurice Bishop International Airport (MBIA) and several
employees at its City Ticketing Office in Grenada called in sick today,
Thursday, August 05, 2010.
As a result of
the industrial action, LI 761/760 which was scheduled to operate
Grenada/Port-of-Spain/Grenada has been cancelled. All other scheduled flights
will operate, however, customers travelling to and from Grenada are advised to
expect delays due to the reduced manpower at the MBIA.
Customers who
are booked to travel today and may wish to rebook for a later date will be
allowed to do so without charge.

and from Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands – 1-866-549-5428.
The Company has
received no notification from the recognized bargaining unit - the Grenada
Technical and Allied Workers’ Union (G/TAWU) - or any individual employee
of industrial action.
LIAT’s
management is seeking to work with the union, employees and the Grenada
Government to bring a speedy resolution to this matter.
LIAT sincerely apologises to affected passengers for any inconvenience caused as a result of the action by its Grenada employees.
