Brades -- June 17, 2010 -- MVO is making the Hazard Zones available in Google Earth (KMZ) format.

This should enable people to be able to quickly visualise the locations of the different boundaries and locations of properties etc within those boundaries. These boundaries have not changed since 23 February 2010. Please note that this data is provided for information only and the accuracy of the boundaries is limited by the accuracy of Google Earth typically assumed to be accurate to around 10 m.

Further revisions to the Hazard level system are likely in a few months time once the results of new modelling of pyroclastic flows has been completed, possibly in September. The Google Earth KML files can be downloaded by clicking here.
