- Flight #879 – Departs Curacao at 12:45 p.m. / arrives in Trinidad at 3:10 p.m.
To celebrate the launch of the new service, Caribbean Star is offering special introductory fares starting at just US$69 each way for flights between Trinidad and Curacao. Special introductory fares are applicable to purchases made by December 1, 2006 for travel anytime after the December 1, 2006 launch date.
The announcement of the new Curacao service comes on the heels of last week’s news that Caribbean Star has been successfully re-certified under new Civil Aviation Regulations passed in Antigua and Barbuda earlier this year. Caribbean Star had previously announced intentions to expand to Curacao in May 2006, but the service was postponed before its scheduled start date in July 2006 pending the carrier’s successful re-certification.
“Curacao has been at the center of our expansion plans for quite some time,” said Skip Barnette, president and CEO of Caribbean Star and its sister airline Caribbean Sun. “I’m particularly pleased that the governments of Curacao, Trinidad and Antigua showed their support by authorizing the new service so quickly.”
Caribbean Star operates a fleet of 11 aircraft – four brand-new, state-of-the-art Bombardier Q300s, plus seven Dash-8 300s – each with a 50-seat capacity. Friendly and attentive in-flight service is provided to all passengers on all Caribbean Star flights, including a choice of soft drinks, juices and snacks. With the addition of the new Curacao service, Caribbean Star now serves 13 Caribbean gateways with more than 635 flights per-week.
