Electing to bat, the hosts piled up 171-7 in 20 overs with top scores from Chanderpaul (64) and Wavell
Hinds (45). Alex Cusack was effective in the middle overs with his spell of 3-19.

In reply, Ireland got off to a good start cruising at 123-3 in the 16th over with wicket-keeper Niall O'Brien on 62 and Paul Stirling on 33. Tight bowling led by slow left-arm spinner Benn (3-32) helped apply brakes as the opposition was reduced to 153-7 in 20 overs.
