NOTE: Abbiegaye Hendricks, Danielle Small and Charlene Taitt will be part of the pre-Tournament camp in St Kitts and will be eligible for selection in One-Day Internationals and T20 Internationals against Sri Lanka and Pakistan ahead of the ICC World T20 Tournament.
 
Chairman of Selectors Clyde Butts on the men’s team:
“We are confident our players will deliver on the home stage. If we play as a unit we have a very good chance of winning the ICC T20 World Tournament. The strength is in the allround ability of the team. We have Chris Gayle at the top of the order and he can be a match-winner. It is also good to have our experienced players in the middle-order – Shiv Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan – and this gives us strength in the batting. Wavell Hinds has been recalled and he brings a wealth of experience. He is a knowledgeable cricketer and we believe can make a good contribution in the middle-order as well.”
 
“Dwayne Bravo is one of the leading allrounders
in world cricket and he is the key man with bat and ball. We are happy to have Jerome Taylor back in the bowling department and this is a big plus. I also believe Sulieman Benn will play a major role with the ball. Overall, we have a balanced side with good allround strength. We want to prepare well, because good preparation leads to good results. Some of the players were in Barbados last week and we now go to Jamaica for the Jamaica Cricket Association Festival. This provides the coach with a chance to be with the players and also to plan and prepare well.”
 
 
Chairman of Selectors Clyde Butts on the women’s team:
“Our girls have been playing some very good cricket in the last six months. They beat England , the Number 1 team in the world, and I know they will be ready when the first match bowls off. They will have a camp in St Kitts and matches against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, which will be good preparation. I expect our girls to do very well in this Tournament. We have very good allround team and they are very disciplined. They handle the pressure very well and play together as a unit under Merissa Aguilleira, who has matured as a good leader.”
 
“With Stafanie Taylor and Deandra Dottin at the top of the order, we have two match-winners. They are also capable allrounders and they are growing with every match. I would expect these players to lead with Cordel Jack and Pamela Lavine making good contributions as well. We have a good bowling unit as well led by Anisa Mohammed with Taylor, Shanel Daley and Shakera Selman also able to get crucial wickets.”
