March 6,2010, Atlanta, Georgia---Multifaceted media personality and entertainment journalist Shelley Maxwell simultaneously balances all things entertainment as the media maven behind RedCarpetShelley.com. The website is a multi-media portal that reports on Celebrity/Entertainment news locally and internationally with a spotlight on the Caribbean.  Her event coverage has afforded her the privilege to host exclusive events and interview celebrities around Atlanta and abroad. 

In addition to lifestyle reporting on restaurants, travel and leisure, Shelley can also be heard on the radio.  This winter she will be launching her new television show, “Lyme Tyme with Red Carpet Shelley” and it will be nothing short of fun, informative and intriguing! “Lyme Tyme with Red Carpet Shelley” will air in Atlanta on Saturdays beginning January 30, 2010 at 1:30pm on Peoples TV (channel 24) and simulcast at www.PeoplesTV.org.

As a media personality, she has attended countless award shows, celebrity events and international carnivals year round.  Her new show is an extension of her growing brand.  The show title, a playful use of words, comes from popular Caribbean vernacular.  “Lime” means to hang out and Thyme is a commonly used spice in the Caribbean.  This show will be bringing Atlanta viewers up close and personal to concerts, events and leisure with a Caribbean twist!  What makes this show so special is that Red Carpet Shelley is the eyes and ears of viewers who wouldn’t ordinarily attend these events.  She covers celebrity events and brings back all the juicy details!   “I’m just trying to get to Hollywood” is a favorite mantra of hers, however as she gains notoriety, Hollywood is just trying to get to her. 

Originally from the U.S. Virgin Islands and a descendant of Nevis and Barbados, her extensive travel abroad and particularly in the Caribbean, has given her global appeal to the masses.  Her followers really appreciate her diversity in media reporting from a Caribbean standpoint.    For much of her adult life she has lived, styled and profiled in the rich Caribbean melting pot of Brooklyn, New York.   After being educated at a world-renown New York City university, Shelley pursued her creative passions alongside her financial career in corporate America until she boldly broke out on her own into entertainment journalism and started RedCarpetShelley.com. Shelley’s business acumen and entrepreneurial impulse is reflected in her company and growing brand Red Carpet Shelley.  Self educated and trained in this field, Shelley has an unconventional advantage in that she has a raw instinct for all things that are entertainment newsworthy. 

Promoting the Caribbean Diaspora is very important to Shelley.  To that end, she has teamed up with the Georgia Caribbean American Complete Count Committee (in association with 2010 Census Bureau) in promoting Public Service Announce­ments (PSAs) using her voice.  These PSAs will air on the radio in Georgia and are geared towards the Caribbean community to ensure Caribbean Americans are counted in the 2010 Census.
