St. John's, Antigua -- Jan. 16, 2010 -- The Board of Directors, Management and Staff of LIAT (1974) LTD have received with deep regret the news of the loss of life, devastation, and human suffering caused by Tuesday’s magnitude 7.0 Earthquake in Haiti.
We at LIAT continue to experience strong emotion and deep sorrow after this terrible disaster which has affected our neighboring Caribbean country causing tens of thousands of victims and heavy material damage in its wake.
Our sadness is heightened by the continuing report of missing Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) management personnel in Haiti, individuals with whom the company works on a daily basis and who have always been supportive of the company’s best interests.
