Calgary -- Nov. 2 -- WestJet announced the
launch of new, seasonal non-stop service between Toronto
and St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles. The inaugural flight
was Nov 1, 2009 from Toronto's Pearson International Airport at 10:15 a.m. ET.
"WestJet is flying to so many exciting new destinations this winter," said
Hugh Dunleavy, WestJet Executive Vice-President of Strategy and
Planning. "One of the most exciting is the culture-rich island of St. Maarten.
It's like getting two trips in one; land into the Princess Juliana
International Airport in the Netherlands Antilles
section of the island, but have the French part of St. Maarten to visit, too!"
