St. John's -- Nov. 18, 2008 -- Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda and Chairman of CARICOM the Hon. W. Baldwin Spencer will on Wednesday officially open the Fifteenth Prime Ministerial Sub-Committee on Cricket Meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister on Queen Elizabeth Highway.

Prime Minister Spencer is the chair of the Prime Ministerial Sub-Committee on Cricket following the election loss of former Prime Minister of Grenada Dr. Keith Mitchell who served as the Committee's chair from 2004-2008.

The one-day meeting on Wednesday will receive an update on the status of the Sub-Committee on Cricket along with the presentation of the P.J Patterson Report on Governance by Former Prime Minister of Jamaica the Most Honourable P.J. Patterson.

During the Meeting, President of the West Indies Cricket Board Dr. Julian Hunte will make a presentation on the West Indies Cricket Board Ten-Year Strategic Plan.

Former Prime Minister of Jamaica the Most Honourable P.J. Patterson in an effort to reclaim the glory days of cricket for the West Indies Cricket team, following its collapse n 1996, established the Prime Ministerial Sub-Committee in that same year. Former Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Mr. Lester Bird served as the first Chairman of the Committee.
