2500 children to be entertained
July 9, 2008 -- Anticipation is high as countless local and regional musicians prepare to grace a Caribbean stage, the likes of which T&T and the world has yet been afforded the opportunity to see.

This Saturday, Concert Capital- Queen’s Park Savannah, will embrace a multitude of cultural loyalists, inclusive of entertainers, dj’s, radio personalities, soca divas and kings from T&T and the region, dancehall superstars and for the first time in the history of Soca 4 Summer, 2008’s show will be driven and motivated by the power of the island’s youth.

In an effort to showcase and highlight the innocence of Trinidad and Tobago’s young people, TriniBashment 91.9FM, the all soca station, in collaboration with a cast of eager soca artistes and cultural ambassadors, this year, brings a concert that features free entry to children who are accompanied by a parent, the essence of which is meant to promote the importance of each parent’s role in their child’s life. The management of this culturally motivated frequency will dish out thousands of dollars to ensure that 2500 children are entertained, fed and secured within the VIP section, all while their parents bask in the beauty of the nation’s many talented musical visionaries, who will come bearing their best performances, for all to see and hear.

Carded to begin at 3pm, the lineup of soca stars will include, Bunji Garlin & Asylum, KMC and the Red, White & Black band, Peter C & The Orchestra, Tony Prescott and the Big Band Surface, Imij & Co, The Boss-Iwer George, Fayeanne Lyons, Denise ‘Saucy Wow’ Belfon, Maximus Dan, Umi Marcano, Fireball, Jamesy P in addition to a cast of local reggae stars like Ziggy Rankin, Zebulon, Positive, King David and so much more. The highlight of the show though, lies within the hands of the infamous Elephant Man, a Caribbean entertainer who has been rightfully dubbed, The Energy God. With tracks like, “ Summer Bounce,” Who We Are,” “ Egyptian Dance,” and others, one can only imagine the dynamically thrilling performance he will present to the regional masses on this long awaited night.

Saturday July 12th will be the beginning of true Caribbean Unity, the dream of many within the soca industry. Saturday will also see hurdles crossed as parents and their children will emerge together as one in the nation’s capital, bearing one chant…” This is Soca 4 Summer, Caribbean Unity At Its Best.”
