Port-of-Spain -- June 27, 2008 -- Thousands are expected
to flood the Queen’s Park Savannah in capital city Port-Of-Spain on July 12th,
in an affair that is being tagged, “Caribbean Unity at its Best!”
Promoters of Soca 4 Summer, the concert event that has, in its 4- year tenure
brought the masses across Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean, closer to the
music and culture that amasses this twin island nation, will this year, make
strides toward unifying the people of the region yet again, by using music, the
one tool that binds the world together.
This year, all soca radio station, 91.9FM, will host a show of dynamic
proportions when it brings acts from all four corners of the island in
collaboration with Caribbean counterparts to entertain, educate and empower the
youths of T&T. This year’s concert theme will offer more for less, in that
children under 12 years of age will be entertained free of charge. Added to
this, Soca 4 Summer in 2008 will cater to the needs of the kids with giveaways
from beginning to end.
The local cast of entertainers are carded to be revealed on the all soca
frequency on Thursday, June 26th between 5 and 6pm, following which, a star
studded lineup from regional islands, including Jamaica, will made public in
the prelude to the July 12th affair.
Organizers of the event are guaranteeing a show that will emulate no other ever
seen or experienced on local shores, all to the benefit of the youth of T&T
and the Caribbean.
