Castries- June 10, 2008 - The East Caribbean Financial Holding Company Limited is this year co-sponsoring the Euromoney Conference to be held in Trinidad and Tobago from June11-12.

Conference to look at investment opportunities in OECS

Castries- June 10, 2008 - The East Caribbean Financial Holding Company Limited is this year co-sponsoring the Euromoney Conference to be held in Trinidad and Tobago from June11-12.

This year's conference entitled "The Caribbean Investment Forum 2008" will have as its theme "Where Global Markets Meet Regional Opportunity". The conference which runs for two days will include addresses by regional and international dignitaries including, the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Hon. Patrick Manning and Hon. David Thompson Prime Minister of Barbados. The conference will also see financial luminaries from international companies like JP Morgan and Merrill Lynch.

The workshop is targeted at government and corporate leaders, investors, international multinationals, financiers, bankers, public and private sector decision makers. During the conference attendees will be exposed to topics ranging from "Innovations in Asset-Backed Construction Finance" to "Investment Opportunities in the OECS". The focus of the conference is to bring leaders in the financial industry and government together to discuss and formulate a sustainable policy on financial services and investment.
 

On the conference agenda will be an ECFH presentation of a workshop entitled "Investment Opportunities in the OECS". The ECFH delegation is led by Miss. Esther Browne General Manager- ECFH and will include Mr. Ryan Devaux General Manager- Bank of Saint Lucia International Limited, Mrs. Carla Morton-Campbell Manager- Investment Banking Division, Bank of Saint Lucia Limited and Ms. Virginia Paul Head- Trade Policy Unit OECS Secretariat.

Chairman of ECFH, Mr. Victor Eudoxie who will be attending the conference is of the view that this conference is critical for it brings together the top political and financial players to help develop policy and common ground in the region. The topic "Investment Opportunities in the OECS" seeks to highlight avenues available for investment and the benefits to be accrued. Bringing in new investors to Saint Lucia and the region is part of ECFH's mission statement i.e. "to be a catalyst for development" and also fits in with its vision of "Global Growth from Local Roots".
