Jamaica has signed an
Air Services Agreement with Spain,
as part of efforts to open up the air transport market to the European Union (EU). Communications Manager in the Ministry of Transport, Reginald Allen, said the signing was in line with the rapid Spanish expansion in the local tourism industry. Mr. Allen said under the agreement, provision has been made for multiple designations of EU carriers into Jamaica He said the agreement would not be signed until legislative procedures were completed in both countries.
