GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC WORKETS UNION SIGN COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT.

Salary negotiations between the government and the Public Workers Union has come to an end.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday with Minister of Education Clarice Charles signing on behalf of the government and the President of the Public Workers Union signing on behalf of the union.

With this agreement now in place, workers can expect to have their first payment by the end of January.

Workers at the middle level will receive five hundred dollars while those at the upper level will receive four hundred dollars.

The agreement in relation to the fringe benefits will be signed at a later date.

Full time daily paid and temporary workers will also benefit from the negotiations with payment issued on a staggered basis.

The Government Negotiating Team was headed by Permanent Secretary in the Department of Human Resource Beryl Isaac.
