KINGSTON, Jamaica - Cricket World Cup Inc. said it hoped Tuesday's announcement that Bob Woolmer died of natural causes would bring an end to speculation surround the late Pakistan coach's death.

Jamaican police said Woolmer had not been murdered, as has been previously announced, and also revealed they were officially closing the investigation into his death.

"In light of the announcement made today by the Jamaica Constabulary Force, confirming that Bob Woolmer did in fact die of natural causes, we sincerely hope this will now cause speculation to cease and provide an opportunity for his family, friends and former colleagues to continue the healing process," a statement from CWC 2007 Inc. said.

"The fact of his death is no less tragic and the international cricketing community has still lost a great practitioner and coach, one who gave much to the game.

"At this time we continue to extend our sympathies to all those that knew and loved Bob. It is our hope that this clarification will help everyone to move towards closure."

Woolmer was found unconscious in his hotel room at the Jamaica Pegasus on March 18, a day following Pakistan's shock loss to Ireland that saw them ruled out of the Cricket World Cup.

Jamaican police ruled that the 58-year-old Woolmer had been strangled and launched an intense murder investigation.
