Castries, Saint Lucia26 Dec. 2006 - The Saint Lucia Cadet Corps held its National Recruit Camp over the weekend at the Leon Hess Secondary School at Entrepot.  Lt Joseph was assigned the duty of Camp Commander with Lt. St Jules as Camp Adjutant. This year history was made when the oldest Unit welcomed the most recent Unit.  St Mary’s College as the first Unit in Saint Lucia welcomed the island’s youngest and first all female Unit from the St Joseph’s Convent.

There were forty six [46] females and thus in keeping with Cadet Corps policy of female Cadets not being allowed on Camp if there is no adult female officer, the 2006 National Recruit Camp was chaperoned by three female officers.  A total of thirteen Secondary Schools attended the camp, with a compliment of ninety four recruits: Augier Secondary, Babonneau Secondary, Bocage Secondary, Castries Secondary, Choiseul Secondary, Corinth Secondary, Entrepot Secondary, Gros Islet Secondary, Leon Hess Secondary, Soufriere Secondary, St Joseph Convent, St Mary’s College, Vieux Fort Secondary

The Camp was supported by seventeen [17] officers and six [6] sergeants.
