Port
of Spain, 19 Dec. 2006 --- Copies of the recently released CD, Discovering the
Birds of Trinidad and Tobago were donated to the Trinidad and Tobago Heritage
Library by its author and publisher, Mr. Brian Ramsey.
This CD contains
information on 332 species of birds found in Trinidad and Tobago accompanied by
over 820 colour photographs. The CD also contains information and photographs
of various tropical plants and animals. A key benefit of the CD is the search
engine that allows the user to select any aspect of a bird, such as the colour,
habitat, location or any other aspect and find everything on the CD that
matches the search term.
The
Trinidad and Tobago Heritage Library is a Division of the National Library and
Information System Authority (NALIS). Its main role is to acquire, preserve and
promote information in all formats, on or about Trinidad and
Tobago. In addition, the Division houses the Legal Deposit Publications
and acts as a national depository and resource for materials published
in Trinidad and Tobago.
The
CD is the result of several years of research by the author, Mr. Brian Ramsey.
It is intended to benefit the casual birdwatcher along with the dedicated
environmentalist plus tourists, students, teachers and anyone with an interest
in the bird life of Trinidad and Tobago.
